Cleveland, Ohio-based Freedonia Group is making available a study examining the U.S. market for decking, including decks made from wood, wood-plastic composites and plastics and other materials such as vinyl, polyethylene and aluminum.
The study contains historical data for 1994, 1999 and 2004, and forecasts to 2009 and 2014. Demand for decking is provided in current U.S. dollars for each material type and markets.
Study highlights include: U.S. demand for decking is projected to advance 2.8 per cent per year through 2009 to 5.7 billion board feet, valued at U.S. 5.8 billion; and composite decking will provide the strongest growth opportunities, with demand fueled by its high durability and low maintenance.
The study can be ordered through the Freedonia Group’s Web site, www.freedoniagroup.com or by calling 1-800-927-5900.
