Peguform Bohemia, a Czech-republic based automotive supplier, and Exatec, the polycarbonate glazing technology joint venture of Bayer MaterialScience and GE Advanced Materials, have announced a business cooperation effort to expand advanced Exatec PC Glazing Technology in the automotive market. Peguform Bohemia will build a new PC glazing facility based on Exatec’s comprehensive glazing system technology. The company will begin construction of the new plant in Europe this year. The decision makes Peguform the first company to use Exatec’s glazing technology, including Plasma technology, to manufacture PC side and rear car windows, as well as sun roofs, for car manufacturers worldwide.
"The market opportunity for PC glazing is huge," says Pavel Neuman, Peguform Bohemia’s CEO. "It is a strategic target of Peguform Bohemia for the years 2005 to 2010 to increase the turnover by 50% in this area."
Neuman said the company intends to achieve this target by acquiring new customers and developing new applications.
