Decoma seeks to acquire French fascia manufacturer

Concord, ON-based Decoma International has announced that it has submitted a bid to purchase the fascia manufacturing business and fixed tangible assets of Peguform France S.A.S. for $EU6 million. Peguform, currently in receivership, operates four manufacturing facilities in France and employs approximately 1,350 people. Peguform had sales of approximately $EU160 million for the year ending Dec. 31, 2002; the company’s principal customers are PSA and Renault.
Decoma says it anticipates a number of competing offers for Peguform’s assets during the course of insolvency proceedings. All bids are subject to the completion of final due diligence and regulatory and board approvals.
Decoma, a manufacturer of exterior automotive components and systems, has approximately 14,000 employees in 41 manufacturing and product development centers around the world.
