BASF has handed off responsibility for its U.S. spray-applied polyurethane (PU) foams (SPFs) to subsidiary Foam Enterprises LLC, based in Minneapolis, Minn.
Effective Jan. 1, 2006 Foam Enterprises will change its name to BASF Polyurethane Foam Systems LLC, but both BASF and BASF Polyurethane Foam Systems will continue to market other PU systems in North America.
As part of BASF’s restructuring of its Polyurethane Systems Unit, the firm will also close its SPF production facility in Cartersville, Ga., by February 2006. BASF is also closing its PU systems production facility in Carrollton, Tex., and its sales and support facility in Hudson Falls, N.Y.
