The board of directors of ATS has appointed Ron Jutras as president and CEO following the recent passing of the company’s founder, Klaus Woerner. Jutras joined ATS in 1986 as chief financial officer and was most recently executive vice president, CEO and CFO.
"Ron is an ATS veteran who is well known by shareholders, employees and customers alike as a skilled and dedicated leader with strong operational and financial knowledge," said Lawrence G. Tapp, non-executive chairman of the board. "Klaus identified Ron as his natural successor many years ago and the two worked side by side for almost 20 years."
Jutras appointed Gerry Beard as vice president and Chief Financial Officer. Beard joined ATS in 2001 and most recently served as the company’s director of corporate finance.
ATS is a designer and producer of turn-key automated manufacturing and test systems, which are used by multinational corporations in the automotive, computer/electronics, healthcare, consumer products, and other industries. The company also manufactures precision components and subassemblies using its own custom-built manufacturing systems and automation technology. ATS is also an emerging player in the rapidly growing market for solar energy cells. The Cambridge, ON-based company employs approximately 4,000 people at 26 manufacturing plants in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
