The Canadian Plastic Sector Council (CPSC) will host its first-ever “Employer of Choice” awards gala and dinner on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in the International C Ballroom at the Doubletree by Hilton Toronto Airport on Dixon Road in Toronto.

The event – held on an evening during the upcoming Plast-Ex trade show – will honor fourteen different companies in the plastics processing industry who have made significant contributions and commitment to supporting and implementing training and certification programs for their employees in the workplace. Several academic, government and industry leaders will gather to celebrate this year’s honorees.

“We are proud to initiate a tradition of recognizing great companies that play a significant role in the industry community,” said Amelia Siva, the CPSC’s executive director. “Their ongoing partnership and support in our certification program contributes to a higher productive workforce. In the face of challenging times in the industry, these companies persist in their commitment to improving the skills of their employees, and this is our opportunity to thank all of them.”

The evening begins at 5:30pm with an industry networking reception; the dinner is slated to start at 7:30 pm. Individual tickets cost $77 and can be purchased through the CPSC’s office by calling 613-231-4470 ext. 221, or emailing c.goyette@cpsc-ccsp.ca.
