A leading U.S.-based packaging supplier is growing its business in the sports nutrition and supplement market sectors.
Pretium Packaging has purchased Custom Blow Molding (CBM), an Escondido, Calif.-based supplier of plastic containers and closures for most of the leading brands in the sports nutrition market.
The deal includes CBM’s three locations: in Escondido; in Carrollton, Tex.; and in Aurora, Ill.
The terms of the purchase have not been disclosed.
Pretium will retain the CBM brand, and CBM executives Bill McNeal and Joe Abbott will join Pretium’s leadership team where they will continue to lead the CBM business.
“Early in the process, we recognized the potential of a merger of CBM and Pretium as being greatly beneficial to both companies and to CBM’s customers,” Abbott said in a statement. “CBM now has the ability to offer our customers our combined footprint across North America as well as leverage Pretium’s extensive PET capabilities to continue providing our customers with highly responsive solutions.”
Based in Chesterfield, Mo., Pretium manufactures rigid plastic containers and closures for the food and specialty beverage, household and industrial products, pharmaceutical, agricultural chemical and personal care markets.
