Israeli-based plastics compounder Tosaf USA will build its first North American manufacturing facility in Bessemer City, N.C. beginning early next year.

The company, which produces and markets polymers and compounds used in the automotive, medical, electrical and packaging industries, will invest $13.1 million in the project over the next three years, and create 75 jobs within five years, according to Bessemer City’s Gaston County Economic Development Commission.

“That Tosaf USA would choose North Carolina for its first U.S. manufacturing plant says volumes about what we have to offer,” Gov. Pat McCrory said. “Tosaf USA found hardworking employees, a great quality of life and the infrastructure needed to be successful.”

The project should break ground in the first quarter of 2015, is projected to be between 75,000-100,000-square feet and should be completed within a year. The company is scheduled to release its hiring timetable in January.
