Material supplier raised record funds for the United Way Campaign.

Material supplier PolyOne Corporation has hit a new fundraising record of US$1,559,000 in its annual United Way campaign.

Money donated as part of PolyOne’s campaign is distributed to United Way chapters throughout Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, based on the work locations of the more than 2,900 associates who contributed, and any designations they may have chosen.

PolyOne’s campaign consists of creative and localized fundraising activities, including associate contributions, a company contribution, raffles and silent auctions, guest speaker sessions and a special charity golf outing held at Firestone Country Club, in Akron, Ohio, where 156 of the company’s suppliers participated earlier this year. The golf event raised US$695,000, making it the largest charitable golf outing in the state of Ohio, according to Bill Harper, executive director, United Way of Greater Lorain County.

“I’m proud of what we are able to accomplish to help our neighbors in need, and thank our associates, suppliers and communities for their dedication to this important mission,” said PolyOne president and CEO Robert M. Patterson.
