Specialty chemicals distributor Maroon Group LLC has purchased competitor D.B. Becker Co. Inc.

Avon, Ohio-based Maroon — whose portfolio includes additives and pigments for plastics and many other markets — acquired Clinton, N.J.-based D.B. Becker on August 4 for an undisclosed price.

D.B. Becker’s management team will continue to actively manage the business.

D.B. Becker was founded in 1954 and supplies raw materials for plastics, paints, coatings and other markets. Founded in 1977, Maroon supplies nearly 900 customers with more than 30 million pounds of specialty additives, resins and pigments annually, with a focus on the plastics, coatings, composites, graphic arts, rubber and adhesives markets.
