Students at a number of Ontario schools will benefit from BASF Canada’s decision to underwrite funding for an innovative science video program. The videos, “Science Screen Report” for secondary schools, and “Science Screen Report for Kids”, for elementary schools, each consist of a series of videos that bring current information on developments in science technology, the environment and medicine into classrooms. In addition, the program includes a teacher’s guide that provides background information and suggestions for critical thought, career possibilities and references for further study.
The video series will be used to augment science curriculum programs at Christ the King and The Georgetown and District High Schools. As well, the series will be implemented at Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School. BASF’s Georgetown facility manufactures animal nutrition products, while its Cornwall site makes plasticizers used in PVC products.
