A new composite material for OEM use has been introduced by Rumber Materials Inc. Rumber Composite is a combination of ground tire rubber and polypropylene or polyethylene which makes polymer products stronger, much more impact resistant and longer lasting, while helping to protect the environment. The material can be used by itself or compounded as an impact modifier. RMI uses a patented method for mixing the tire waste with the carrier resin, with the component ratios blended to match the performance requirements of each end product. Rumber can be used with most plastics processes including injection and rotational molding and extrusion. Current applications include highway signs, buckets and feeders for livestock, and plastic pallets.
