Ron Desjardins has joined Engel North America as account manager for Quebec and the Maritimes. Desjardins has been prominent in the molding industry in Quebec for over 20 years, his most recent position being business development manager for Precimold Inc. At Engel, his main responsibilities will be the promotion of Engel’s line of machinery and automation, as well as customer service.

Ross Anderson has been appointed vice president and general manager for Milacron’s North American plastics machinery business. In this position, Anderson will be responsible for all operations relating to U.S. injection molding machinery, including manufacturing, sales, field service and finance.

John Vlachopoulus, professor of chemical engineering at McMaster University, has received the Distinguished Achievement Award of the Extrusion Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers. The award recognizes Vlachopoulus’ contributions to polymer extrusion technology.

Michael Vidal has joined Cyronix Inc., Toronto, ON, as a sales representative. Cyronix is the exclusive Canadian representative for Dynisco Instruments pressure and temperature transducers and instrumentation, and for Shinko North America controls and recorders.

Robert Hallam, who spent part of his early career as a field service engineer for Boy Machines Inc., has rejoined the company as a district sales manager for the Mid-Atlantic states. Hallam has over 20 years experience in the plastics industry, serving most recently as a sales representative for a custom molding plant.

Tony Fiorvento has been appointed western regional sales manager for Carlo Gavazzi Canada, a supplier of controls, sensors, timers and other equipment for the plastics industry. He will be responsible for sales throughout western Canada and will be based in North Vancouver, BC.
