Alberta-based Pultronex Corp. has sold some of its assets to Imperial Building Products, a subsidiary of Imperial Plas Tech Inc.
IBP, which is based out of Toronto, will pay approximately $600,000 for specific production equipment and intellectual property, which includes patents, customer lists and trademarks.
Pultronex’s product lines include E-ZDeck composite decking material, E-ZRail post and railing system and WaterFront FRP piling panels.
According to Victor D’Souza, Imperial’s president and CEO, the acquisition complements IBP’s wood-fibre plastic line of residential decking and railing products and will help to broaden the company’s product line in a number of geographic regions, particularly the U.S., where Pultronex has a significant presence.
IBP expects to re-hire the majority of Pultronex’s employees and be back in production immediately.
