The latest commercial grade of DuPont Dow Elastomers’ chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), Tyrin 3600P, exhibits superior low-temperature ductility, improved processing characteristics and better filler acceptance compared with acrylic impact modifiers and other CPE-modified PVC formulations. Tyrin is used as a component in vinyl siding and window profiles to improve ductility and resistance to brittleness in cold temperatures, permitting builders to extend the construction season in northern climates.

Tyrin 3600P is easier to process, allowing extruders to optimize their formulations to achieve the best cost/performance blend. Tyrin grades can also be used in piping, electrical connectors, fittings and thermoset applications.
