Packaging manufacturer CCL Industries Inc. (Toronto) plans to bring new labeling technology back to its U.S. operations as the result of a joint venture with European label provider Pachem AG. Pachem specializes in pressure sensitive, shrink sleeve and in-mold labels.

CCL-Pachem will operate from three plants in Austria, France and the U.K.

Technology from the European operations will also be transferred to CCL Label’s subsidiaries to serve customers in North America, Latin America and Asia. An investment of $8 million is planned for CCL’s South Dakota facility to bring CCL-Pachem technology to the U.S.

CCL Industries provides plastic and aluminum packaging and labels from 33 production facilities worldwide.
