Growth in sales and profits has prompted a 25 percent increase in staff over the past year at Heins PCM Machinery Ltd. (Brampton, Ont.). The company now employs almost 50 people. It is the only manufacturer in Canada of continuous extrusion blow molding machines and also makes accessories, such as spin-off trimmers.

One of the recent management additions is Daniel Rioux, who joined Heins PCM in May as account executive North American sales & marketing. “We see the U.S., as well as Quebec and Western Canada, as growth areas,” says Rioux. A major corporation in the U.S. has just purchased five Heins PCM CM750D dual station blow molding systems, slated for September delivery.

Twelve machines are currently on the floor at Heins, due for shipment by the end of August. The Brampton plant is working at almost full capacity and has added a second shift to keep up with customer demand. Expansion plans are being reviewed for some time over the next year.
