Sigma Industries Inc., a Quebec City-based plastic composites manufacturer, has made its first acquisition in the U.S. market.

Sigma’s U.S. subsidiary, Sigma US Industries Inc., acquired Pickens Plastics, a Jefferson, Ohio-based manufacturing plant with 60 employees and $7.5 million in annual sales.

“This acquisition fits ideally with our growth objectives,” mentioned Denis Bertrand, president and CEO of Sigma Industries. “The technological expertise developed by Pickens Plastics, its state-of-the-art equipment and its strategic location in close proximity to our target markets are key factors that will facilitate its integration and the achievement of future growth at all levels of the organization.”

Pickens Plastics, with manufacturing plants in Jefferson and Ashtabula, Ohio, makes molded fiberglass reinforced products for transportation, heavy equipment, chemical, electrical and appliance industries..
