The Canadian Plastics Sector Council, in partnership with the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), have launched a program that will make funding available for the hiring of interns. The program, Plastics Internships 2001, is targeted for plastics companies that are Canadian owned or a Canadian subsidiary.
The total Council contribution is 33 percent of wages to a ceiling of $10,000, with a maximum duration of funding up to 52 weeks. The internships are especially aimed at small and medium-sized plastics companies across the country. To be eligible for an internship, participants in the program must be post-secondary graduates, age 30 and under, who are unemployed or underemployed.
The goal of the program, which is administered by the Council, is to provide entrance into the job market, as well as to provide a cost-effective opportunity to companies to enhance their human resources. Deadline for applications is September 30, 2001. For more information contact the CPIA at 905-678-7748.
