As previously reported in the April 2007 issue of Canadian Plastics, the McGuinty government has launched a new online compliance information centre. The Compliance Information Centre for Manufacturers of Plastic Products is designed to help small manufacturing businesses understand and comply with provincial legislation.

The new centre provides regulatory information on issues such as workplace health and safety, employment standards, environmental protection and the submission of taxes.

The website also provides industry-specific applications and forms, and content is available in both national languages.

“This is a big step forward for both small business and government,” said CPIA president and CEO Serge Lavoie. “Together we have created an information centre that allows companies to access regulatory information quickly on what they need to do to be compliant with many laws.”
