Colortech Inc., a subsidiary of Polyplast Muller GmbH, has purchased Eastman Chemical Company’s color concentrate business. Terms of the sale, which was effective Sept. 30, 2003, were not disclosed.
Colortech operates compounding plants in Brampton, ON and Morristown, TN. Alex Rom-Roginski, president of Colortech, said: "We have enjoyed a long relationship with Eastman, and we look forward to the opportunity of serving their customers with the same level of quality and service we provide to our current customers."
Phil Griswold, vice president and general manager of Eastman’s specialty plastics business, said Eastman’s polyethylene color concentrates business no longer met the company’s profit margin expectations.
Major end uses for polyethylene color concentrates are flexible packaging and consumer goods.
