Ashland names leader of composite polymers division

Chemical supplier Ashland Inc., based in Columbus, Ohio, has named Judson W. (Jud) Smith as the V.P. of the Ashland performance materials division, and the general manager of the composite polymers division.
Smith, previously Ashland Inc.’s V.P. of source management, joined the company in 1987.
“Jud has broad management experience, a strong background in the composites industry and excellent leadership skills,” Hank Waters, the president of Ashland’s performance materials and water technologies divisions, said. “We are committed to continuing the growth of our composites business and Jud is uniquely qualified to lead this important part of our performance materials division.”
The Ashland performance materials division is a global manufacturer of specialty chemicals for the building and construction, packaging and converting, transportation, marine and metal casting industries.
Ashland Inc.’s Canadian office is located in Mississauga, Ont.
