Specialty chemical and additives manufacturer Ed-Lynn Corporation (Markham, ON) has recently formed a joint venture with Diamond Network Polymers, a resin distributor, compounder and manufacturer of ABS and ASA based in Akron, OH. The joint venture, called Ed-Lynn Network, is based in Akron. According to Ed-Lynn president Marc Wade, the j.v. will combine the benefits of low-cost, off-shore production of additives with a high-level of sales, service and technical support. Wade said the j.v. intends to provide smaller companies with value-added service usually offered only to larger firms by suppliers.
Ed-Lynn Corp. supplies colorants and additives manufactured at a facility based in Taiwan. Wade called the j.v. the "epitome" of his company’s business strategy to create customized additives solutions for processors and compounders more quickly.
"Everything we have, we make," said Wade. "There’s no middle men."
