In an effort to tap into emerging markets, injection molding machine supplier KraussMaffei is doubling production capacities in its manufacturing plants in Slovakia and China.

For both sites – Martin, Slovakia and Haiyan, China – capacity expansion is planned for the beginning of 2013. “The KraussMaffei Group is growing,” said Dr. Dietmar Straub, CEO of KraussMaffei AG. “In order to strengthen our activities in core markets and in emerging markets, we have decided to expand these two production plants.”

Both facilities will also add new performance capabilities, the Munich, Germany-based company said. At the Haiyan facility, Netstal and KraussMaffei injection molding machines for PET applications and KraussMaffei injection molding machines of the MX series will now also be produced. In the production plant in Martin, which was put into operation in autumn 2010 and which currently manufactures the company’s AX series units, new capabilities will include production of robots and machines of the EX series as well as machines for reaction and trimming technology.
