The Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) has set dates and locations for a series of regional meetings to discuss strategies for its newly established “Ambassador’s Program”, a key plank in its Intelligent Plastics campaign.

Meetings will be held in Toronto on September 16, in Montreal on September 23, and in Calgary on October 7.

“In August, we launched CPIA’s Intelligent Plastics campaign, a very aggressive media outreach program aimed at showcasing the contributions of plastics to the economy, our society and the environment,” the organization said. “In addition to our media campaign, we are initiating an ‘Ambassador’s Program’ which gives participants the tools and knowledge they need to communicate with stakeholders and legislators about the positive contributions of the plastics industry in Canada. We are planning regional meetings this fall to discuss communication objectives, strategies and tactics. We urge you to attend one of these meetings to better understand the challenges facing our industry, and the role CPIA is playing in changing perceptions in pursuit of a more hospitable business environment to facilitate growth in the plastics industry.”

Members and non-members alike are invited to attend the meetings. The Toronto meeting will be held in the Sorel Etrog room of the Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Road. Registration opens at 7:30am, with the meeting scheduled to run from 8:00am to 11:30am.  A registration form for the Toronto meeting can be found here.

Details regarding the Montreal and Calgary meetings will be made public shortly, CPIA said.
