Materials maker PolyOne Corporation has opened a specialty color concentrates plant in Saudi Arabia through a joint venture with a Saudi company.
The $14 million plant was opened April 9 in Jeddah. It will be operated by Juffali PolyOne Masterbatch Co. Ltd., a joint venture between Avon Lake, Ohio-based PolyOne and E.A. Juffali & Bros. Ltd., an industrial joint venture conglomerate headquartered in Jeddah.
Material made at the plant will be sold within the Middle East. The two firms have worked together on sales in the Middle East for almost 30 years.
The new production facility “solidifies our ability to bring enhanced value and improved collaboration for our current and future customers”, PolyOne Chairman, President and CEO Stephen Newlin said in a statement. “Juffali brings its local expertise in the region to the venture, and PolyOne provides its formulation technology and material science.”
