The K 2010 trade show is underway in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The event runs from October 27 to November 3, and is expected to draw over 200,000 visitors.

Some 3,102 exhibitors from 56 countries are attending the show – only twelve fewer exhibitors than attended at the last version in 2007, K show officials said.

The presentations by machinery and equipment manufacturers, raw materials producers and plastics processors will this year be flanked by a special review entitled “Visions in Polymers”. On the basis of examples from different areas of life, the review is intended to indentify developing consumer trends and the plastics innovations the industry is working on to satisfy them. The review will focus on five main themes: energy efficiency, sustainability, mobility (lightweight products), applications for communication technology, and applications for the food and packaging industries.
