In a bid to boost its North American presence, German thermoplastic compounder Lehmann & Voss (L&V) has acquired U.S.-based compound maker Performance Compounding LLC.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Headquartered in Pawcatuck, Conn., Performance Compounding produces a wide range of melt processable fluoropolymers and engineering plastics. Pawcatuck is also the headquarters of
L&V’s U.S. subsidiary Lehvoss North America. Close cooperation has linked the two companies over the past several years, L&V said in a statement.
“The involvement in Performance Compounding is an ideal strategic addition to achieve the growth targets for our Luvocom high performance compounds in [North America],” said Alexander Sunder, L&V’s global director.
Performance Compounding will continue to operate under that name in the U.S. Managing Director Lefteris Valsamis will remain with the firm as general manager.
