Deep-draw forming
An innovative melt-phase forming technology from PBM Plastics produces containers than can be thinner, with deeper draws than offered by traditional thermoforming, and can have seamless walls and precision flanges.
According to PBM, draw ratios of up to 8:1 are possible, as well as walls thicknesses down to 1 mil, and heat resistance of up to 500 degrees.
One example of a product formed with this technology is a private-label “drop-in” baby bottle liner. Melt-phase forming provides a seamless design, a rigid flange and impressive impact resistance. Melt-phase forming has also been used for labware.
