Coming off its fourth record sales year in a row, France-based robotic automation maker Sepro Group is establishing a new direct sales and service operation in Switzerland.

Called Sepro Switzerland, the daughter company will have an office east of Zurich.

“This is the third daughter company or local office that Sepro has inaugurated in just over a year and the eleventh in all,” said Jean-Michel Renaudeau, CEO of Sepro Group. “Sepro Canada opened in January 2016 and Sepro Austria-Hungary started up in March. This continued global expansion, along with aggressive expansion of its product line and technology base, has helped us to quadruple our turnover since the depths of the financial crisis in 2009. Since we began establishing a local presence in important global markets, we have seen our market share in these countries grow. We have learned how important it is to be local in the regions we serve. Several of our key customers have operations in Switzerland and so it only makes sense to position ourselves close to them and offer truly local sales and service.”

The establishment of Sepro Switzerland comes on the heels of Sepro Group reporting its latest financials. The firm reported 103 million euros in sales for 2016, with North America accounting for 21 per cent of that business.

Sepro Group has also announced plans to expand its American facility in Warrendale, Pa., and begin assembling big robots there by Q4 of 2017.
