Reifenhuser splits into two business units

The business units of German extrusion equipment maker Reifenhäuser Extrusion GmbH & Co. KG have been divided into two independent companies, one to handle extruders and wood-plastic composites, the other to handle cast film.

The activities of Reifenhäuser’s former Extrusion Center have been spun off into Reifenhäuser Extrusion Technology GmbH & Co. KG. The company is led by managing director Tim Pohl, and will focus on the development of extruders and WPC lines.

The product segments of the cast film business unit will remain within Reifenhäuser Extrusion GmbH & Co. KG, which was renamed Reifenhäuser Cast Sheet Coating GmbH & Co. KG. The company will focus on the development and manufacture of cast film lines, polishing stack systems, coating lines, dies, and winders; Jochen Hennes will continue as managing director.

Both companies will continue to be located at Reifenhäuser headquarters in Troisdorf, Germany.
