Bathroom furniture manufacturer Produits Neptune Inc. has received a $275,000 loan from the federal government.

The Saint-Hyacinthe, Que.-based company, whose products include 100 per cent polymer bathtubs, plans to use the funding to develop a commercialization strategy. The $1,270,000 project includes the acquisition of an MRP system, taking part in international trade fairs, and the production of communication tools.

The funding is repayable, and offered under the government’s Business and Regional Growth program.

According to the Canada Economic Development agency, the investment will also help support the plastics sector in the surrounding region of Montérégie.

“Montérégie has a high concentration of firms specialized in plastic processing. Canada Economic Development is investing in developing this niche market in the region,” the government said in a press release.
