Major garage door manufacturer installs five Engel I/M machines
Fort Worth, Tex.-based National Door Industries is in the midst of a US$4 million expansion.
National Door Industries, a Fort Worth, Tex.-based manufacturer and distributor of garage door-related products, has expanded its manufacturing facilities, added capabilities and increased efficiencies with a capital expenditure of more than US$4 million dollars – including the installation of five Engel injection molding machines, ranging from 400 to 1,000 US tons, to provide additional capacity and capability for their growing business.
The new equipment – as well as the company’s existing Engel machines – is utilized to produce window frames as well as designer Stylecraft and Styleline window inserts for garage doors.
With the added capacities the new Engel equipment brings National Door, the company plans to continue expanding their current product lines, as there is a great opportunity in the industry, but also venture into custom molding.
“We are both family-owned companies,” says Britt Barnard, partner/owner of National Door. “With reputations for high quality, reliable products, and a corporate focus on growth and innovation, our companies have a shared philosophy.”
Founded in 1968, the firm has grown from one employee in a 2,000-square-foot facility to its current position of 87 employees in a newly-expanded 150,000-square-foot facility.
National Door manufactures over 33,000 SKU’s of different window and insert trim products – as well as stocking and distributing a total of 70,000 parts including fasteners and other hardware components for the industry. The company services over 30 garage door manufacturers and 7,500 dealers in North and South America and worldwide.
