Houston, Tex.-based WL Plastics is said to be one of the largest HDPE pipe manufacturers in North America.

In what’s shaping up to be a busy week, material supplier Ineos Olefins & Polymers USA has acquired WL Plastics Corp., said to be one of the largest HDPE pipe manufacturers in North America.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

WL Plastics is headquartered in Fort Worth, Tex., and has production facilities in Kentucky, South Dakota, Utah, Texas, and Wyoming. A facility in Georgia is currently under construction.

With over 500 million pounds of annual production capacity, WL Plastics provides HDPE pipe to markets including oil, gas, industrial, mining, conduit, and municipal water, and sewer.

“We are very pleased to have acquired WL Plastics,” said Ineos CEO Dennis Seith. “The business is well-positioned to serve the growing North American pipe market and will complement [our] existing portfolio of olefins and polymer products.”

The WL Plastics purchase comes just days after Ineos — through its Ineos Styrolution unit — announced that it was buying the global K-Resin styrene-butadiene copolymers business of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. and Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd. for an undisclosed price.
