Plastics Processes Blown Film Coextrusion

Germany-based blown film equipment maker Hosokawa Alpine AG has purchased Anton Kolb Maschinenbau GmbH, a manufacturer of downstream products for flat film and blown film also headquartered in Germany.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Anton Kolb Maschinenbau currently employs approximately 60 employees at its offices close to Cologne. The company develops and manufactures solutions for film handling projects. The product range includes take-off units, winders, unwind stations and customer-specific special solutions for flat film and blown film.

According to a Hosokawa Alpine statement, Anton Kolb Maschinenbau will continue to operate “without restriction at its present location”.

Hosokawa Alpine employs more than 900 staff, predominantly at locations in Germany. The film technology business division develops and manufactures blown film lines for the coextrusion of film with up to 11 layers as well as monoaxial film orientation lines. The powder and particle processing division supplies machines and systems designed for grinding fine powders.
