According to a statement by York, Pa.-based Graham Engineering, the Welex manufacturing operations are expected to be integrated into Graham’s operations in York.

The Welex acquisition follows the Graham Group’s purchase of majority interest in single-screw extruder maker American Kuhne in October 2012.

“The addition of Welex creates multiple points of synergy for the markets that Graham Engineering, American Kuhne and Welex serve,” said Bill Kerlin, Graham Engineering chairman. “Graham Engineering is gaining a global leader and trusted brand in Welex, as well as an experienced executive in Schroeder, who has significant experience in plastics processing technologies and in conversion businesses.”

Sales and customer support will not be changed by the acquisition, Kerlin added.
