B&P acquires drying, mixing equipment maker Littleford Day

The assets of Littleford Day Inc. – a company that specialized in the manufacturer of mixing, drying, and reacting equipment – have been acquired by B&P Process Equipment and Systems LLC, a manufacturer of batch mixers, extruders and centrifuges.

The deal is designed to help Saginaw, Mich.-based B&P strengthen its position in batch and continuous mixing in markets including pharmaceutical, chemical, food, plastics, animal nutrition and coatings.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

“The combination of Littleford Day Inc. with our expertise in continuous mixing applications will provide our clients with the best equipment to fit any application in both batch and continuous mixing,” said Larry Slovin, president and CEO of B&P. “The acquisition is also expected to result in greater efficiencies, product improvements and better opportunities for customers.”

Headquartered in Florence, Ky., Littleford Day is a leading manufacturer of mixing, drying, and reacting equipment to all segments of the process industry, including plastics. The company was founded over 130 years ago, and has transitioned from manufacturing brewing equipment in the early years to road building equipment in the early 1900’s and eventually to process mixing equipment in the middle of the century.
