In a move to form what they claim will be the largest global supplier of pipe, profile, film, and sheet extruders – and uniting manufacturing on three continents – Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik, Cincinnati Extrusion and B+C Extrusion Systems Ltd. are merging under one name: Battenfeld-Cincinnati.
The newly combined business will also include U.S.-based extruder supplier American Maplan Corp.
Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik is based in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany; Cincinnati Extrusion is headquartered in Vienna, Austria; and B+C Extrusion Systems Ltd. is based in Foshan, China.
According to a press release, the combined company will operate under three end-market oriented divisions: construction, infrastructure, and packaging. Five production facilities — one each in Austria, China, the U.S. and two in Germany — will be integrated into the new entity.
“In each division, the competencies of all predecessor brands have been pooled, so that from now on our customers will have the expert knowledge from a total of some 120 years of experience in the extrusion industry at their disposal,” the press release stated.
The construction division, headed by Rainer Kottmeier, will take care of all customers requiring solutions to manufacture visible extrusion products for the public and private sectors, such as profiles, PVC sheet, but also WPC, decking, fencing, siding and railing. Walter Häder will be responsible for the infrastructure division. He and his team will be the contact partners for all questions concerning transport and distribution of water, gas and telecommunication data in plastic pipes. Dr. Henning Stieglitz will be in charge of the new packaging division specializing in extrusion solutions for the packaging industry as well as PVC granulators and PVC processing solutions.
“With our concentrated expertise in each division, we can offer our customers individual extrusion solutions that will give them the decisive competitive and technological edge,” the companies said.
