Starlinger president Erna Starlinger-Huemer dies at 81

Erna Starlinger-Huemer, the president and former director of Austria-based extrusion machinery maker Starlinger & Co. GmbH, died on March 11 aged 81.

With her late husband Franz, Starlinger-Huemer helped build Starlinger into one of the world’s leading plastic packaging machinery suppliers.

She received the Grand Silver Medal of Honour of the Republic of Austria.

“In her active business life, which covered a time span of more than fifty years, Erna was not only a company head, she also was a world traveller, culture lover, supporting friend, and mother,” Starlinger said in a statement. She acted as ambassador both for Starlinger and the Austrian mechanical engineering sector.”
