Specialty film maker Argotec buys Stevens Urethane

Specialty film and sheet maker Argotec LLC has acquired Stevens Urethane, a competing firm headquartered in Easthampton, Mass., for an undisclosed sum.

“The two companies are an ideal fit,” Guy Broadbent, president and CEO of Greenfield, Mass.-based Argotec. “Our specialty is aliphatic polyurethane film and sheet [and] Stevens is very good at extruding aromatic TPU film and sheet.”

The purchase will give Argotec “the necessary technical and manufacturing resources to meet the rapidly increasing global demand for both these difficult-to-extrude products”, Broadbent continued.

Founded in 1988, Argotec is a manufacturer of custom engineered, high-performance, polyurethane film and sheet for a variety of critical applications, including optical interlayers, paint and surface protection, graphic films, as well as films for medical and textile lamination applications.
