Glendale, Calif.-based Avery Dennison has named Mitchell Butier, currently the company’s president and COO, as its new CEO effective May 1.
Butier joined Avery Dennison from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2000, and has worked in various businesses and regions across Avery Dennison. He has been in his most recent role since November 2014.
He succeeds Dean Scarborough, who will become executive chairman of the board, Avery Dennison said in a statement.
Avery Dennison is a global manufacturer and distributor of pressure-sensitive adhesive materials , apparel branding labels and tags, RFID inlays, and specialty medical products. The company operates in more than 50 countries and employs 26,000 people worldwide. Its Canadian division is located in Oshawa, Ont.
