
Ravago buys rubber, specialty chemical distributor H.B. Chemical

Specialty chemical supplier Ravago Holdings America Inc. has acquired H.B. Chemical Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
Headquartered in Twinsburg, Ohio, H.B. Chemical is a distributor for the North American rubber industry, supplying synthetic rubber, accelerators, plasticizers, antioxidants, waxes, and other specialty chemicals required by manufacturers of rubber and elastomer products.
The acquisition includes H.B. Chemical’s businesses in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico in addition to their affiliated business in Asia.
“H.B. Chemical represents a unique combination of Ravago’s core businesses: polymers and chemicals,” Ravago CEO Jim Duffy said in a statement. “They have built a fantastic business by combining market-leading products with a unique service offering that will fit exceptionally well in Ravago’s portfolio. We expect that within Ravago, H.B. Chemical will be able to accelerate their growth and expand their business model.”
The statement also said that H.B. Chemical will become a separate division in Ravago’s subsidiary, Ravago Chemical Distribution, Inc.; H.B. Chemicl will continue to be led by President Jeff Rand, and will maintain its office in Twinsburg.
Headquartered in Orlando, Fla., Ravago Holdings America Inc. is a division of Belgium-based chemical supplier Ravago.
