Material supplier Plastics Color Corp. has expanded the manufacturing capacity at its facility in Chicago.

Historically the facility has manufactured color, but in a statement the company said it is amplifying the color capacity at the plant to better accommodate customers in the various markets it serves.

Headquartered in Calumet City, Ill. Plastics Color’s Chicago facility will now also act as the Midwestern color production hub. The Chicago expansion is designed to allow for faster speed to market for many customers and expands overall color capacity for the company. “This transformation promises to have an immediate impact on the food and beverage, personal care and consumer packaging markets, as color plays a critical role in their success,” the statement said.

The Chicago facility offers color match and color development services. It will also provide assistance with Color Now, Plastics Color’s color-selection system, with exclusive access to its huge color library and use of the NODE+chroma technology while fulfilling requests for plastic chips and samples.
