Materials supplier A. Schulman Inc. will open a major production facility in Turkey that will make 40 million pounds of its masterbatch products a year.
The Fairlawn, Ohio-based polymer company, which makes plastic compounds, powders and resins, said that the new plant will make products for the growing food and industrial packaging industries in Turkey and other parts of the Middle East and North Africa.
The plant is expected to be running by the end of the company’s fiscal 2016 year.
A. Schulman said it will lease and convert existing facilities in the greater Istanbul area.
