Pulaski, Va.-based Xaloy Inc. is forming a new business unit, Xaloy Extrusion, after acquiring the extrusion business of Dynisco LLC.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Hickory, N.C., Xaloy Extrusion will take on the sales and support of its own screws, bimetallic barrels and heat-transfer roils used in extrusion processes, along with Dynisco’s line of auxiliary equipment for plastics extrusion including gear pumps, screen changers, cleaning ovens and pelletizers.

Xaloy has appointed Randy Pearson, former president of Dynisco Extrusion — Dynisco’s identity before it was bought by the Audax Group in 2004 — to lead Xaloy Extrusion.

Dynisco will retain, and focus on growing its testing, measurement and control portions of the business. Richard Pavero, vice-president of sales and marketing for the Franklin, Mass.-based Dynisco said the firm intends to aggressively pursue acquisition opportunities as part of its growth strategy.
