Ube Industries, Ltd. has sold what it claims is the world’s largest AC-servo all-electric press yet to be manufactured. The press, a 950-ton model, was sold to the Stanley Electric Company in Ohio for an undisclosed price. The sale coincides with Ube’s recent entry into the electric machine market. According to Jason Forgash, regional sales manager at Ube’s Ann Arbor sales office, the company is aiming its electric machines at high-end, high-precision applications across all market segments. Forgash says Ube plans to introduce a 720-ton all-electric in early February and a 1100-ton electric in the summer of this year. Ube is represented in Canada by Hamilton Avtec, Mississauga, Ont.
