Gentek Building Products has added two new darker colors to its premium Sequoia Select vinyl siding line and boosted the product’s lifetime limited warranty to include lifetime fade protection. Sequoia Select’s palette of darker colors is fortified with an extruded layer of Luran S ASA weatherable compound from BASF.
Luran S ASA is a copolymer compound that provides superior color retention despite exposure to sun and heat, rain, salt water and chemicals. The compound also improves vinyl siding’s resistance to dings and abrasions. In addition, Sequoia Select siding with Luran S ASA will resist yellowing and will not chalk.
“In the past, homeowners had concerns about the colorfast performance of darker color siding,” says Michael Lohuis, siding product manager at Gentek. “With Luran S ASA technology, homeowners can choose darker colors with confidence because fading is no longer an issue.”
