Toronto-based Versatech Industries has secured a blanket contract to supply General Motors with vinyl pouch packs and racking for all painted parts. Versatech will be responsible for designing, prototyping and manufacturing the vinyl pouches, which are used to cradle painted parts such as fascias and moldings during shipping.

“Customers like the way the vinyl bags prevent parts being chipped or damaged, compared to conventional shipping rack systems,” Jim Osborn, product designer, said at the recent Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress in Detroit.

Versatech manufactures a variety of plastic-based, returnable dunnage material handling and packing systems primarily for the automotive industry.
