TPU meets demands of multiple applications

BASF Corp. has introduced the Elastollan M Series of polyester-based thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) specifically designed for injection molding applications. The line of TPUs is formulated to set up quickly in the mold and cycle much faster than other TPU products in the same hardness range.

The M Series materials exhibit fast molding cycles without use of fillers or glass fibres and are available in four durometers, 80 through 95 Shore A, with additional products under development. All M Series products are designed for injection molding applications and have been proven successful in golf cleats and several other recreational and industrial applications.

In addition to providing faster cycle times, the M series offers excellent abrasion resistance and toughness, good heat, oil, fuel and solvent resistance compared to competitive polyester TPU products.
