Impacto Protective Products Inc. (Belleville, Ont.) uses a unique air bladder system made with Stevens Urethane thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) to protect workers from impact, vibration and repetitive motion injuries. Impacto AirGlove uses a patented AntiVib air bladder from ErgoAir, which absorbs and dissipates vibrations at both high and low frequencies, protecting workers who frequently use pneumatic drills, jackhammers and other power tools. The air bladder provides protection which is better than traditional materials, and the TPU produces a thinner product, lighter weight and better flexibility. The TPU-based, anti-vibration bladder system is nearly weightless and is comfortable to wear, unlike the much bulkier visco-elastic polymer gloves that were previously the best available. TPU was chosen for its strength, flexibility and temperature resistance.
